, Edo State, on Friday sentenced a 20-year-old man, Augustine Obasi, to three and half years in prison for raping a 15-year-old girl.
The Chief Magistrate, Esther Aimofumeh, while delivering the judgement, said Mr Obasi was guilty of count two and count four. The chief magistrate sentenced Mr Obasi to six months imprisonment with an option of N60,000 fine, while on count four, the convict was sentenced to three years imprisonment without an option of fine.In a related development, the police in Abia have confirmed the electrocution of a suspected thief at Amoji-Ukwu Village, Obingwa Local Government Area of the state.
