An Ikeja Special Offences Court on Tuesday sentenced Uchenna Izuka to 15 years in prison for defiling a 12-year-old girl.The judge recalled that the survivor testified how the defendant defiled her sometime in 2018 and 2019.On another occasion, she was bleeding but the defendant used tissue paper to clean her up.
“She said she was a virgin before and that her father took her to the hospital for a check up when he saw her walking with difficulty.The judge said though the defendant denied committing the offence, he later admitted to have called the survivor into his room and gave her money. Justice Taiwo, relying on the evidence before the court, ruled that the defendant was guilty as charged.The prosecutors, Olakunle Ligali and Omowumi Bajulaye-Bishi, said that the defendant committed the offence in January 2019 in Ajegunle.
