A 50-year-old man, Adewale Gbenga, has been arraigned before the Yaba Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for allegedly robbing people at the University of Lagos, in the Akoka area of the state.

The prosecutor, Godwin Oriabure, said the defendant had been stealing in the varsity for the past three years, adding that the offence was contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The charge read in part, “That you, Adewale Gbenga, on Friday, November 25, 2022, around 11pm at Honour’s Hall environ, UNILAG, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos, in the Yaba Magisterial District, did steal Infinix Smart phone valued at N49,000 property of one Taiwo Bunmi, and others and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
