The Malawi government has suspended the head of the country’s National Examination Board, following the leakage of the Malawi School Certificate of Education exam papers earlier in November.

MANEB Executive Director Gerald Chiunda has been suspended to pave way for investigations into the matter, local media reported, citing a notification issued by the vice-chairperson for the examining body’s board, Edith Mmela. On Nov. 5, immediately after the MSCE exams were cancelled, Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera ordered the dismissal of MANEB’s top management.
