Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr.

Abubakar Malami

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, has said the farmer-herder conflicts require a better approach. The AGF, who said this on Saturday according to a statement from his office, called for stakeholders’ engagement to resolve the clashes between farmers and herders in the country.

“The better approach towards resolving the crisis is to directly involve the stakeholders at the conception, implementation and monitoring phases.“Failure to harmonise the needs and aspirations of the involved stakeholders is inimical to the peace and prosperity of Nigeria,” the Minister was quoted in the statement.

He added that a review of the activities of the Nomadic Education Commission with a view to complementing the efforts of government is essential in resolving the farmer-herder clashes.
