The Local Government election held in Plateau State on Saturday, was marred by voters’ apathy and insufficient election materials.
Lalong told journalists that it was usually difficult to transit from one elected government tenure to another, adding that “anytime we come to the end of the tenure of local government councils, people become anxious about the caretaker committee.” But one of our correspondents who visited Alikazaure Tudun Wada, Rayfield, Mai Adikwo, Abattoir, Goradong, Gura Topp, Rukuba Road, and Agwan Rukuba in the Jos South and Jos North LGAs of the state observed that most of the polling units had low turnout of voters.
