, with a target N1 billion at the launch of its first SEC Registered Endowment Fund, in Nigeria raised One hundred million and one hundred thousand naira

In his opening remark, the Chairman of the occasion, the founder of Guaranty Trust Bank , Fola Adeola harped on the need for individuals to collectively undertake charitable ventures in their communities in order to achieve a fairer society.He explained that Waqf which is the Islamic term for charitable endowment involves donating a fixed asset which can produce a financial return or provide a benefit was crucial in the actualisation of an equitable society.

Adeola said he once charged certain people against using vile words on the community, as well as on the nation.
