The Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Mohammad Dingyadi, has commended residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and personnel of the Nigeria police for their understanding and compliance to the Federal Government lockdown order.

The Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Mohammad Dingyadi, has commended residents of the Federal Capital Territory and personnel of the Nigeria police for their understanding and compliance to the Federal Government lockdown order.

The minister said the lockdown was imposed by the Federal Government to contain the spread of covid-19.“From what I have seen during this monitoring exercise, I think the situation is good. People are complying and police officers are everywhere on the roads trying to ensure that the compliance is sustained.

Dingyadi said the ministry was not aware of any form of brutality by police personnel deployed for the exercise, but called on Nigeria to ensure report of any form of brutality by the police. The minister urged Nigerians to appreciate the efforts of the Federal Government towards containing the spread of the deadly virus.
