Notable Nollywood actor Kamal Adebayo who is popular in the Yoruba movie circles as Sir Kay has passed on. The veteran actor who is known among fans of movies produced in Yoruba language for using hilarious slangs in movies reportedly died on Tuesday December 27.

The actor who has since been buried according to Islamic rites is father of skit maker Abidemi Adebayo aka Isbae U. Sir Kay’s death is coming nearly a month after Abidemi had surprised him with a birthday cash gift of one million naira.

Condolence messages has continued to pour in for the actor of vast credit. Notable actor Yomi Fabiyi expressed sadness over the death of the actor whom he described as a pillar of support. Taking to his Instagram handle Fabiyi wrote: ‘From my first year in the industry , you believed in me then till this moment. There are some quarters you will always tell me I can and never pay attention to distractions. I laugh anytime you talk even when it is a serious matter. Your slangs and words plus how they sound make me laugh always. So it is good bye Sir K?…Egbon mi Kamoru Adebayo. Sun re o. Journey Well’.

Practitioners and fans of Nollywood have mourned the death of some practitioners this year. Those who passed on this year include Lari Williams, Leo Mezie, Romanus Amuta, Tafa Oloyede, Dejo Tunfulu, Yinka Ogindaisi, Gbenga Richards, David Osagie, Sola Onayiga, and Ada Ameh.
