The Ayegbayo family on Sunday said the late chairman, Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun State, Gbenga Ayegbayo, did not die of coronavirus.

The family of the deceased said Gbenga had been managing partial stroke before his death.

Spokesperson for the family, Gbolahan Ayegbayo, in a statement dismissed insinuations that the council boss died of coronavirus. The statement read, “On Monday, April 6, 2020, samples were taken for laboratory tests. Reports received from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control shows that the last council boss tested negative for Covid-19.

“In respect to that, the council chairman died from an illness he had nursed for some time. He did not die of coronavirus.”All rights reserved.
