A source said, “Over 100 people affected have been receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, while 15 have died and 28 are on the danger list.”
A source at the FMC claimed one of the health workers in the hospital lost his wife to the disease a few days ago. A member of the state chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told one of our correspondents that a sensitisation programme was needed to stop the disease in the state.
Meanwhile, a corps member serving in Asaba, in the Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State, has been diagnosed with the Lassa fever.
