The Directorate of Youth and Students,’ of the All Progressives Congress Campaign Council, has lauded the Lagos State Government over the school fees reduction in two institutions in the state.

A statement signed by Deputy Director, Directorate of Youth and Students, Eniola Opeyemi, read, “The news of the downward review of tuition fees by 65 percent in both Lagos State University of Science and Technology and Lagos State University of Education respectively, feels like a soothing balm as the year hurtles to an end.

“Recall that protests by students over sudden raise in tuition by management of universities and other higher institutions nationwide are a ubiquitous scenario. “However, here in Lagos, the students didn’t have to prompt a request for a reduction in tuition, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, knew well how to do the needful ahead of time. He dazed the students and parents of the aforementioned schools. A yuletide package, right? The varsities’ management had initially proposed N195,000 for tuition before Sanwo-Olu, a man with a large heart, slashed the fees by 65%.
