While citing the Economist Pocket Book, the ECA member noted that the nation’s commercial capital deteriorated from being the third-worst in 2018 to its current position now. “The city which beat Lagos is Damascus in Syria which is a war zone. So there are many things happening in Lagos,” he stated.While commenting Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration for some achievements recorded upon assuming office in May, he, however, wants the state government to tackle insecurity for businesses to thrive.

When a state fails to take advantage of its resources in the past 2 decades, it will fall amongst list of the worse in all ramifications. They share Lagos cake with knife and each beneficiary has a cut, the Emperor of Lagos takes the lion share.
It will be interesting to see the metrics and methodology used in this ranking and how many cities were sampled. It will even be more interesting to know this is a highly subjective survey with multiple institutions producing dissimilar rankings.
