The Lagos State Government, yesterday, inaugurated school projects across the state, in commemoration of his second year in office.
He affirmed that education empowered a child with necessary knowledge and set skills to actualise potentials and maximise opportunities in life, adding that the education sector was critical to the growth and development of any society. According to him, “actualising 1,097 projects, covering 970 schools is to further fulfill our mandate of the THEMES Agenda for a Greater Lagos. Our government ensured prompt construction and rehabilitation of 322 dilapidated public schools, while 87,000 dual composite units of furniture were supplied to primary and secondary schools; we are flagging-off these school infrastructural projects to deliver 300 classrooms including seven new hostel blocks across the schools in the state.
The governor disclosed that metropolitan fiber optics would be launched in schools to provide internet connectivity for students to enhance their learning, adding that the pilot will commence with 100 schools.
