Fayoade Adegoke, the Lagos state commissioner of police, says 2,329 suspects were apprehended, while 4,502 motorcycles were impounded in the city within his first 100 days in office.

He added that those arrested within the period include suspected cultists, armed robbers, kidnappers, among others. “We recovered a total of 20 firearms, including four toy guns, 120 rounds of toy ammunition, 28 live ammunition, 15 live cartridges, three expended cartridges, four vehicles, seven POS machines, cutlasses, illicit drugs and various charms,” Adegoke said.

Adegoke said there has been a complete overhaul of the security architecture of the command through intensified patrols, with special attention to high-risk areas, especially at peak periods, which has helped to reduce traffic robberies in the state. He commended the media and other security agencies for their support within the period, while seeking further collaboration from the public.
