No fewer than eight persons were said to have been injured and 10 vehicles damaged on Monday in Kano during a clash between members of Kwankwasiyya and Gandujiyya groups.

Alhaji Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the spokesperson of the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party , Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf, confirmed the clash. According to him: “Some of our supporters were seriously injured and currently receiving medical treatment in some clinics, 10 vehicles was destroyed and personal items carted away by political thugs believed to be sponsored by Kano State Government.”

He said: “It is a mere allegation and I believe the Kwankwasiyya people are just beating around the bush. There is no iota of truth in their allegation.
