Following the incident, Abdullahi said firemen on emergency duty swung into action and arrived the scene at about 07:34 am and found a man of about 25 years old, identified as Ghaddafi Saleh, inside a main gutter.

According to the statement, the victim who was rescued unconscious was later confirmed dead, and his remains handed over to a Police Inspector, Bashir Abdullahi, of Zaria Road Police Division. The cause of the incident was attributable to the downpour of last Sunday, during which the victim fell into a major drainage and got trapped.
