The Joint Labour Union has issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Kano State Government to immediately pay back the money deducted from May 2020 Salaries of workers in the state or face industrial action.
They also urged the government to as matter of urgency fully implement the N30,000 minimum wage and also settle unpaid arrears or face the consequences, starting with a seven-day warning strike. “Therefore, we reject in its entirety the illegal and illogical deductions from workers’ salaries in the month of May, 2020 and call on the government to respect the collective bargaining agreement reached between the government and the Labour on consequential adjustment arising from N30,000 minimum wage law implementation in December 2019 and stop further deductions unconditionally.
