The Kaduna-based publisher said that people like him ought to be a “priceless asset” but the government has refused to support him.

He added that negotiating with kidnappers without government support is “very dangerous “ and could cost his life.Mr Tukur said that during the negotiation for the release of the first hostages no ransom was paid except a “give and take.” “So I think the right people to answer this question should be the federal government or the military,” he said.
