Jigawa: Kidnappers fail to release INEC staff after collecting N500,000 ransom

Kidnappers of the Independent National Election Commission, INEC, staff in Jigawa State have demanded 500,000 ransom for his freedom.

He explained that the kidnappers contacted him through a telephone call on Saturday and demanded the amount on the following day and threatened to kill him if we fail to comply with the arrangement. Malam Mahadi said that on Sunday he paid the said amount to the kidnappers but they failed to release him.
