Momas Electricity Meter Manufacturing Company Ltd. says Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission’s directives to begin the rollout of new meters by May 1 is not feasible or realistic.

in Lagos on Sunday that rolling out meters by May 1 as directed by the NERC is not achievable, considering other challenges that require attention.

“Secondly, consumers have to be informed on the methods of acquiring meters, whether by payment or by investment. “If we are licensed this month , three months are enough for us to prepare, that is April, May and June; while in July, we start implementation. “Consumers also need to be educated on payments, there will also be an “EXCO account’’ in the process. These are challenges that require a long period.

“However, the process needs to be expantiated so that the media will have a clear understanding of the issues and the directive.

This country is constantly on Turn Around Maintenance. So NERCNG did not consult with MAP before going to the press. Such shame is shameless given our present predicament as a country.

Well, we have Nokia Samsung and YIN-YIN phones in the telecom. Can't we have somethin' similar in this so-called PRIVATIZED body? This is 2019 for..(.....) .sake

Summersaults policy.

Incompetency everywhere.

Isnt it better u stop the scam called prepaid meter? The ones u guys rolled out has been marred with incompetence and fraud. Sorry nation and her institutions!

NERC must set stringent tax penalty and lets see if they can't comply. Useless and lezy people

NERC to begin mass metering on May 1Prepaid? Prepaid? Prepaid? I have never see a regulatory body that's as useless as NERCNG NERCNG I think NERC should concentrate on regulatory issues. They don't have business in acquiring or distributing meters. If any DISCO cannot manage their electricity infrastructure and meters its customers, I think the DISCO license should be revoked. femigbaja
