The Academic Staff Union of Universities has urged its members not to give up in fighting for qualitative and equitable education, saying the struggle continues in 2020.

The union was making a veiled reference to the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System, which is its most burning tussle with the Federal Government and could lead to strike action by the lecturers in January 2020.

The ASUU National President, Prof Biodun Ogunyemi, on Wednesday in his Christmas message to the union, stated these, adding that members must prepare for challenges ahead in the New Year. He said, “Comrades and compatriots, as we join the rest of the world for the Christmas and New Year holidays, let’s look back with thanksgiving and prepare for the challenges of the future. The season of love reminds us of our obligations to the poor and downtrodden.“A celebration like this is more meaningful when the ordinary Nigerians have access to qualitative education, healthcare, and other good things of life. Happy holidays, as the struggle continues! Biodun Ogunyemi.
