IOC Admits Postponing Olympics An Option, But Cancellation ‘Not On Agenda’

The global sporting calendar has been swept away by the coronavirus pandemic but the International Olympic Committee has insisted the Tokyo Games will go ahead in four months despite growing calls for a postponement.

“We have, as indicated before, been thinking in different scenarios and are adapting them almost day by day.” Sprinter and long jumper Lewis, who won gold at four different Olympics, told Houston television station KRIV, that he backed calls for postponement. “World Athletics welcomes discussions with the IOC to postpone the Tokyo Olympic Games and wrote to the IOC earlier today to relay this feedback from its Area Presidents, Council and athletes,” it said in a statement.

Almost three-quarters of the 300 athletes who met online with USOPC supported delaying the Games, USA Today reported.

Because, all reputable organisations have suspended all their activities in support of the war against Corona virus, only IOC shows massive insensitivity to global health.

Why IOC are not getting a heavy backlash about their continued delay in announcing suspension is just that Trump(US) and Shinzo Abe(Japan) are good ally. If not, I will support scrapping of Olympics

No medal is worth the life of any human. IOC appears selfish in their conduct, when the world is in crisis, not even consoling the nations that funds their selfishness.
