The Nigerian Medical Association has expressed concern about doctors’ safety following the security issues in the country.

This was contained in a communiqué of the NMA’s National Executive Council meeting in Makurdi, Benue State.

Faduyile, who called on President Muhammadu Buhari to address the security problems in the country, lamented that Dr Audu Sule and Dr Sunday Oduniyi had yet to be rescued by the police after they were kidnapped in Taraba State six months ago. “Doctors are no longer comfortable in this country, because they have suddenly become targets for abduction. It is important that we address this daily kidnappings in the country.

The NMA chief said they had resolved to “use doctors’ stamp as an anti-quackery measure”. Faduyile added, “The general public, judiciary, military and paramilitary should insist on doctors’ stamp on medical reports and certificates.
