Insecurity: EU donates 30 boats, forensic equipment to Nigeria, others

This was disclosed at a high-level maritime security seminar convened by ECOWAS in Abuja, on Monday, under the framework of the European Union-funded Support to West Africa Integrated Maritime Security project.

The other beneficiaries include Benin, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea-Conakry, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Senegal and Togo. According to him, turning the tide against maritime insecurity is a collaborative effort that no single country or region can tackle alone.

Will they use it?

Why is EU wasting their time and resources to a country that is not serious and never wanted to help itself I bet the boats would be sold to mitants and pirates.

In Nigeria politicians have donated boats to warlords in creeks and given them Licence to operate maritime schools Those forensic equipments are also useless because they haven't hired graduates who can work with them and make good use of the devices, it will collect dust or sold
