Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo on Saturday again called for the establishment of state police as one of the ways of addressing the nation’s security challenges.

According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, the Vice-President spoke at the opening of an international conference on Patriotism, Security, Governance and National Development organised by the Global Patriot Newspaper in collaboration with the Nigerian Consulate in New York and Nigeria in Diaspora Organisation, New Jersey Chapter.

“The National Assembly is in a position to consider some of the proposals that have gone to them for the purposes of devolving more powers to the states for security purposes and for addressing the security challenges.” “The crucial point here is that no community or state is compelled in any shape or form to give land for ranching.

“If we are able to execute the NLPT, we will be able to see an end to the farmer-herder conflict because the goal is to make livestock breeders more sedentary and derive more financial benefits.”

Tell him to shut up. Is the VP incapacitated Who is he telling The masses Who is supposed to establish state police? Idealist filled with propagandas!

That is a way to go. I totally agree with the Vice President, we have to decentralize the police

Why is this man talking to the press, can't he speak to his commanding officer who is just next door to him.

I hope NASS just listens and begins work on this, the same way this man called for NLTP back in 2018 and few paid attention. Truth is we could use every form of policing at our disposal at the moment.

State policing is a way out to end the insecurity of our land

State police will surely help in intelligence gathering as they are accustomed to those areas already.

State policing is a good way to address the security issues we have in this country. I hope NASS passes the bill that empowers each state.

Osinbajo has an advocate of state police

Well siad sir, state police is a another dimension to solving insecurity in Nigeria..

Until we all yield to the state policing then insecurity will keep becoming an issue for us

State policing will help improve security with the officers having a knowledge of every nook and cranny to check.

As always he has been an advocate for community policing and if it can be approve I'm sure there will be changes in the security sector.

This can only be made possible with the national assembly

The NASS nassnigeria should jettison politics and focus more on governance at least for once. This can only be made possible with the national assembly becos it is under their purview. Osinbajo is always an advocate of state police.

This is awesome idea and it should be taken asap

Most Nigerians don't know that executive arms of govt don't no have power to do that but NASS

This suggestion should be taken and adopted ASAP. It is the way forward.

Why can't the presidency send a bill to the National assembly for the purpose and see if it will not happened, they should stop deceiving us jare.

Has Osinbajo discussed this with his insentient boss?

May God lead us to the right part

Is he not part of the govt again?

His afraid to call for true federalism?

Words without action is useless ,state police is very important

I really don't get it anymore...when the VP and President are at parallels in suggested solutions! It is clear Buhari is not in Charge at Aso Rock!

Making statement to make history -- even if the requests wouldn't be taken serious. To make us understand he's not part of the mess. He has to speak his mind to show his support for what many Nigerians want.

This man always talk like he's not part of this Mumu Govt; Useless Fake Pastor

I sincerely thought this man has left Aso Rock.. 😳😳😳 Where has he been Or is he not acting a VP again

He should stop making audio calls pls...

Who’s he wailing to ?.

Bro, all we need is to decentralize the federal police, state police will fail. They will become political thugs

I don't get? Is he not the one who can make this happen?

That's what Nigerian's want
