The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, has stressed the need for the government and private sector to provide infrastructure to deliver quality health care to the people.

Abayomi said the overhaul was part of a strategy to build a resilient health care in the state and increase residents’ access to quality universal health coverage. The commissioner also disclosed that the State Executive Council had approved the construction of new hospitals to bridge gaps in access to services in the health sector.

While noting that the promotion and protection of the health of residents of Lagos State has a positive impact on social development and quality of life of citizens, Abayomi disclosed that the State government embarked on the greenfield medical infrastructure projects to prevent issues noticed in health infrastructure across all levels of care in the State.
