INEC worries over insecurity as crises stall APC, PDP, LP campaigns

[FILES] PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar got his campaign officially underway in Uyo on Monday, October 11, 2022. Recall that release of a PCC list with the governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong as Director General had elicited discordant tunes in the party. And guess what, almost all the stakeholders gave the draft a 90 per cent pass mark.

During the event, LP Chairman, Julius Abure, was represented by Secretary of the party, Umar Farouk. However, the National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Arambabi Abayomi, in a short message, said: “We are not involved in Okupe’s mischievous political shenanigans. That is not the party’s programme. Okupe noted that 80 per cent of the new voters were supporting the candidate. He added that about 60 per cent of Nigeria’s 38 million social media users are registered to vote, adding that 50 per cent of the figure are ‘Obidient.’

Reacting to RFP’s emergence and victory, Garba said Lesotho’s youths contributed to the victory of the new party, adding that APC must devise tactical campaign techniques to win next year’s election in the centre. He said the dimension of insecurity in the country compared to what was obtained in the past has changed and now more widespread.
