The commission premised its optimism on the fact that its joint committee made up of telecommunication stakeholders had revised the system and concluded that electronic transmission of results was practicable.
“The commission will continue to pilot different solutions bearing in mind that technology is dynamic and can limit human interference in the electoral process. The commission wants broad powers to deploy technology and is not in favour of a particular solution being written into the law. Okoye stated that domestic election observers and the media applied for accreditation to observe and cover elections electronically and that henceforth, political parties would submit the names and photographs of their polling agents electronically.
“Currently, the commission is carrying out part of the continuous voter registration exercise online, while the physical registration of voters will be done using INEC Voter Enrolment Device that will capture the fingerprints and facials of registrants.” “I want to use this opportunity to talk to people out there … We all want electronic transmission of results, but based on the information from experts, it is not as easy as it sounds. We must get our electoral process right and when the time is right, we can come back and amend the law.
Many Nigerians criticised the National Assembly for the non-acceptance of the electronic transmission of election results.
Most useless elders representative
Most useless elders representative
The rogue national assembly. We now know the people dragging us back. Posterity will equally judge them. Simple maths: since there is network coverage in all towns & cities, let's transmit electronically there and otherwise in the villages if INEC feels so.
You see?
NASS is not representing the people. The people will represent themselves very soon
Buhari will host him to a dinner tomorrow, he’ll change his words soon.
Blehxxing Good even inecnigeria is tired of this regime
NASS is a disgrace
They did what will benefit and for the country interest at large, they're more dangerous than snake.
The commission premised its optimism on the fact that its joint committee made up of telecommunication stakeholders had revised the system and concluded that electronic transmission of results was practicable
INEC is entitled to their own opinions NO' to e-transmission of results have teken the lead in the NASS, lagestrators have delivered the massage of the majorities. Those cities dwellers can continuous to have their say. That's the beauty of democracy.
The one in the middle is so handsome!
We the hackers are waiting and watching o. Do not try to transmit anything online. No election 2023 😌
I'm more worried about the Lagos nass members who actually voted against it. Like, doesn't Lagos have enough coverage as a mega city? Or remi tinubu and co just want to be stupidly unfortunate.
Is it the NASS members that have collected money 😂. They weren't voting based on any data they have naa. INEC is obviously in the best position to technically decide if they can achieve e-transmission of votes or not. NASS was supposed to vote on INEC's suggestions.
Nobody fit go bomb all of em for that national Assembly?
It's all drama, this people are all one.
There will soon be a new INEC chairman. Buhari is not tolerant to contrary views.
Nigerians politicians are one when it comes to issues than bothers them, but divided when its bothers the masses. The all embrace technology in other parts of their endeavor, but for e-transmission of election result, they don't want. Una be the problem of this county.
Now! Let the game begin
It's all according to the script
