Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has called on the Nigerian elite to work towards building consensus on where they want the country to be.
He said 63 years after, Nigerians were yet to succeed in forging a truly Nigerian spirit, regretting that ethnic and religious differences were still being exploited in furtherance of personal or collective interests. The Governor believed that to ensure internal security challenges, the country should resume peacekeeping and enforcement roles in West Africa and Africa, come together and support their security agencies in the fight against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, armed robbery and other forms of criminality.
As a result, he said that he has constituted the Financial Inclusion and Literacy Committee to ensure that the poor, vulnerable and underserved in the rural areas benefit from state and federal governments social intervention programmes.
