There was panic in Owerri, the Imo State capital on Sunday after an escapee of the Owerri jailbreak of April 5, 2021, Justice Anukam, reportedly stabbed a pregnant woman to death.

“The suspect accosted the woman and demanded money from her and when she refused, he stabbed her with a sharp knife and the pregnant woman bled to death.

“The suspect fled immediately he stabbed the woman but youths of the area pursued and apprehended him after several attempts to stab them.” It took the intervention of police officers from the Ihiagwa Police Division to save the suspect from being lynched. When contacted, the police spokesperson for the command, Micheal Abattam, said that he was awaiting a situation report from the division.All rights reserved. People around knew that this man escaped jail, and he was still living among them, giving them trouble serially. He stabbed a woman, which does not sound, from the tone of this story, sufficient to kill her outrightly. Yet, she bled to death. Where is the sense of community here?
