Flag-off of Operation Restore Peace at the Michael Okpara Square in Enugu State on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, has flagged off a new Operation codenamed Operation Restore Peace in the Enugu State to contain the rising insecurity in the South-East region.
The event was held on Tuesday at Micheal Okpara Square in Enugu capital city and was attended by Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. This is coming barely two days after the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Enugu State was attacked and properties set ablaze by yet-to-be-identified gunmen on Sunday night.Six vehicles were razed with two others damaged following the attack INEC office in Enugu.
Also in April, two officers were killed in an attack on a police station in Adani, Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State, raising concerns over incessant assaults on security formations in the South-East region of Nigeria.
Is a welcome development, we know there is Peace in Every state in SE. If SE starts having crisis after the arrival we will not find it difficult to know where is coming from. Blessed are the peace makers.
Using force to make peace
Misplaced priority, the North is in shambles and had not had peace in years, yet this people keep acting like there is something they forgot in the south east that they want to retrieve, what this Buhari led government is looking for, they will see it one day.

Nigerian police is the most useless government institution I have ever seen. You refuse fighting book haram sighting that u were not trained to do so but u are quick to deploy troops to SE to terrorise civilians in the name of keeping peace. Posterity will judge this Government.

I want to ask Dis man power sent down to the south why can't they also send and equipt those in the north Abi is it the south only that the level of insecurity is bad the north have bandit, terrorism and yet our IGP carry man power full the south
The PoliceNG IGP should declare how much he collected for this fraud. If the South-East is not peaceful, trust me. It is not police you would send to the South-East. I dare you to send these untrained policemen and women to NE let us see something.
