Oyelade, who until his death was the Ekefa Olubadan of Ibadanland, died early last month, paving the way for 15 vacancies in the Otun line of the Olubadan chieftaincy system.Rather than slug it out as it is always the case when Jagun positions are to be filled, all Mogaji agreed to allow Sanusi, who apart from being the Apesinola of Ibadan, is Mogaji of Olugbade compound of Oja’ba, to fill the void.
Dignitaries at the event included the President-General, Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes , Niyi Ajewole; President, Association of Ibadan Mogaji, Mogaji Asimiyu Ariori; elder brother to Oyo State governor, Chief Muyiwa Makinde, who was one of the promoted chiefs and mogajis; Nurudeen Akinade, the coordinator, Ibadan Compounds Peace Initiatives, among others.
