Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi SuleLAFIA —The governor, who disclosed this while critical stakeholders of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lafia, said though the removal of fuel subsidy by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu had brought hardship to the people, the money being shared across all tiers of governments had, however, made it possible for his administration not only to offset the debt but also embark on development projects and save for the future of the state.
“That is the reason we have been able to do whatever we are doing. With due respect to my predecessors, I am not sure if they have ever seen the kind of resources some of us are seeing today. And this is all over the states. That is the reason we can afford to do certain things we were not able to do before. “Still, that has not stopped us from carrying out various other responsibilities that we did. That is the good part that I want you to see.
While noting that there remained a lot to be done to further unite the party, Governor Sule said this was especially so, considering the disagreements that ensued before, during and after the 2023 general election.
