Adesina, in a statement, said “the bank’s institutional framework was solid and efficient” and he stood by it.The AfDB boss also said he would continue working as the head of the organisation.
Adesina has been accused of corruption and favouritism by some anonymous whistleblowers, and although the AfDB’s ethics committee cleared him of wrongdoing, the US pressed for an independent probe into the charges. “I maintain my innocence with regard to trumped up allegations that unjustly seek to impugn my honour and integrity, as well as the reputation of the African Development Bank,” he said.
“As Martin Luther King Jnr. once said, ‘the arc of the moral universe is long but it bends towards justice’. Nigeria is a major shareholder of the AfDB, Africa’s largest multilateral development financial institution, and the Federal Government had backed Adesina for a second term as the bank’s president.
blackbeauty4mu1 I think he was trying to help his country Nigeria and put himself in a mess! Beware of politicians they don't have a name to protect!
What's US business with AfDB? I think America is becoming jobless for pokenosing into Africa affairs. For the fact that you have nothing to offer us doesn't mean you should stand on our path of progress

US Pressure at work again .. Adeshina is clearly doing a great job at AFDB ... We need to stand firm against this pressure...
Nothing is new here It's obvious that Adesina will be going for second term when his current term ends, Some people are just trying to frustrate his plans
