The immediate past Secretary to the Government of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, on Friday intimated the state leadership of the All Progressives Congress of his intention to contest for governor in 2022.

Oyebanji, who already purchased nomination form in Abuja, told the state APC leaders that he was the most competent and experienced candidate to succeed incumbent Governor Kayode Fayemi. He was received by the Ekiti State APC Chairman, Chief Jide Awe; Zonal Publicity Secretary, Dape Karounwi, and former Publicity Secretary, Chief Taiwo Olatunbosun.“We have a heritage of responsible campaign. We will be civil and run a campaign devoid of crisis and violence. We are conscious of the fact that only one of us will emerge. We respect the right of every Ekiti indigene to contest; they all have the right. It is a matter of the more the merrier,” Oyebanji told the party leaders.

Oyebanji, who resigned from Fayemi’s cabinet during the week in furtherance of his governorship ambition, added that, “Our government will sustain Fayemi’s legacy and expand prosperity for Ekiti people. Every Ekiti man, woman and child will prosper under our government.

Fayemi: Nigeria Needs to Restructure Now Before It’s Too LateVictor Ogunje in Ado Ekiti and Dike Onwuamaeze in Lagos Ekiti State Governor and Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has said Nigeria needed a restructured federation that… Too late kfayemi “… affirmed that Nigeria should “embrace political restructuring through a national dialogue before it is too late.” I don’t actually understand this. National dialogue AGAIN? Why not implement what is already on the table (abi on the shelf?) The highest hypocrisy is, you’re against IPOB and at the same time praying and hustling to leave the country because the system is messed up. All prophet MNK words must come to pass.
