The man alleged to have attacked President Muhammadu Buhari at the Argungu Fishing Festival on Thursday has denied doing so.
A newspaper had reported that he was shot in the leg after ‘attacking’ the president and thereafter whisked away by operatives of the Department of State Security and tortured. He said: “President Muhammadu Buhari was in Kebbi State Thursday to declare open the Argungu Fishing and Cultural Festival.

The young man was able to break through the circle of security details at the venue just to handshake the President. That is a security breach. I am surprised that he wasn’t arrested and interrogated about his real motive, but rather given undue publicity.

We just need to thank God that the young man never wrestled MBuhari down or killed him. The video does show a young man who wanted to greet his President. It should be a lesson to MBuhari that Nigerians are so unhappy with him that they could give him Next Level greeting.
