A survivor of election violence, Douglas Nosayaba Edobor, has narrated how he nearly lost his life, considering suicide as the best option at the time. “Because of this, we were threatened and bullied several times by thugs/cultists who we believed were working for the ruling party at that time.” Edobor said he help of some ‘good samaritans’ who rescued Edobor from the inferno and took him to a hospital in Ogba area of Ikeja, Lagos with various degrees of burns, and was hospitalised for six weeks.
“It was on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, by around 8 p.m., on my way from work, that I received a call from a neighbour who told me my house was on fire,” Edobor recounted.
