He stated, “Police visited the scene and removed the corpse of the guard. The corpse was deposited in the Mainland General Hospital morgue, Yaba. A big stone with blood stains was also recovered. I learnt two persons were arrested.”
Police spokesperson in the state, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, said it was an unprovoked attack on the guards, noting that the corpse had been released to the deceased’s family for burial. He said, “We heard some hoodlums attacked the guard and his colleagues while they were on duty at No 35, Alimosho Road, Pako, Lagos. Others sustained injuries while he gave up the ghost. His family came to the police to claim his corpse as they insisted they didn’t want any case on his death. The corpse was released to them and was buried according to Islamic rites.
“We will be working on any clue we have on the incident. The Commissioner of Police has ordered the DPO to work with the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, and other tactical squads of the command to unravel the incident and bring the culprits to book in no time.”All rights reserved.
