The battle by Nigeria against HIV/AIDS got a boost on Tuesday with the Global Fund announcing its support with $969m for testing and test kits between 2021 and 2023.

But the organisation said it had supported Nigeria in the global response on Tuberculosis, HIV and Malaria including Resilience System Strengthening for Health.

He said, “Over time, Global Fund has been supporting Nigeria, taking into account the fact that Global Fund is supporting globally the response on Tuberculosis, HIV and Malaria including Resilience System Strengthening for Health. “Between 2021 and 2023, Global Fund will be supporting the country also with additional $890m and within the space of HIV/AIDS, we will be spending about $79m, that is within the space of 2021 and 2023 just for testing of HIV/AIDS.

He said, “Government should show the same courage it used to increase these prices to block leakages in public finance; cut down the cost of governance; tackle corruption and relooting of recovered assets and more importantly, diversify the economy
