He said the recent altercation between the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo and the National Assembly Joint Committee supervising the ministry would not strain the smooth relations between the Executive and the Legislature.
According to him, the National Assemly also has the right to demand to know the processes and procedures through which the programme will be implemented. Also, activists, under the aegis of the Bayelsa State Non-Governmental Organisations Forum , have urged Keyamo not to allow the National Assembly hijack the planned 774,000 jobs for unskilled Nigerians under the SPW Programme.
In a statement yesterday by its Executive Secretary, Mr Keme Opia, BANGOF, a coalition of over 40 civil society groups, hailed the minister for standing up to protect ordinary Nigerians.
