The pan-northern socio-political organisation, Arewa Consultative Forum, on Saturday expressed concern over the killing of a five-year-old pupil, Hanifa Abubakar, by her teacher in a private school in Kano State.
Of grave concern too, according to the northern body, was act of bullying in government and even military schools where pupils are bullied to join “cult” groups or indulge in “homosexual” acts. This was contained in a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the Forum, Emmanuel Yawe, released in Kaduna.It read, “The Arewa Consultative Forum wishes to express its shock and revulsion over the anti-social and criminal acts going on in Nigerian schools. These border on bullying, murder, kidnapping, homosexuality, cultism etc.
“He is alleged to have kidnapped the young girl, his student and taken her to his house where he demanded for a ransom of N6m after which he killed her.
