One policeman was killed and another person injured when gunmen attacked Eziama Uli in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra on Thursday during a medical outreach.

DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, confirmed the incident to newsmen on Friday.

Ikenga described the incident as unfortunate but said it was part of the sacrifice made by police personnel in providing protection for the people. “The details of the incident are still sketchy but it involves police personnel providing security services.Reportedly, Uli Global Ambassadors for Development Initiative organised free medical services for the people of the community when the attack occurred.
