Some unknown gunmen have invaded Nasarawa Housing Estate along the Makurdi-Jos road, killing Emmanuel Akiko, a 34-year-old postgraduate student of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, and carting away valuables items.It was learnt that the assailants scale the fence at the backyard before gaining entrance into the estate around 10pm on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the state Deputy Governor, Emmanuel Akabe, while representing Governor Abdullahi Sule, directed the state Commissioner of Police, Adeshina Soyemi, to bring the perpetrators of the heinous act to book to serve as a deterrent to others.The state police spokesman, Nansel Ramhan, said an investigation had been launched to ascertain the rationale behind the act.
