No fewer than 10 persons have been abducted on a farm at Ayede Ogbese, in the Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.gathered that the victims were kidnapped on the farm on Saturday.
A source said Alawiye was called on the phone that his farm was on fire and he rushed down to see the level of the purported inferno. “On getting to the farm, the armed men suddenly appeared and whisked him and his workers away to an unknown destination,” the source added. A family member of the farmer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the bandits had contacted the family and demanded N100m as ransom.
“They said failure to produce the money, we may not see them again. After negotiation, they reduced the ransom to N10m. But the family is yet to raise the money; that is where we are now. As I am speaking to you, all of them are still in the den of the kidnappers,” the family source added.
