Group shuts down Awka over non-conduct of LG polls

The group handed the state governor, Willie Obiano, five months ultimatum to commence the process for the conduct of the election or face other legal action.

“If elections are held in the local government areas, it will create jobs, reduce insecurity and serve as a breeding ground for good politicians. “We will not rest until the right thing is done. The governor must also hear this, if he is the one taking the allocation of the council areas, he must be reminded that he must pay for it because we must hold him accountable.
