The group, which described Atiku’s candidacy as unfair to the South, alleged nepotism by the Buhari-led regime.
The NEG stated this in a statement issued on Sunday, titled ‘For the Sake of the Unity of Nigeria, Political Inclusion is the Way to Go,’ which was jointly signed by the National Convener, Emeka Nwosu; and National Secretary, Mohammed Mubarak. “We wish to draw attention to the fact that the NEG has campaigned vigorously for equity, fairness and inclusion in our body polity. In our several interventions over the years, we have appealed to the major political parties to be mindful of the complex heterogeneous Nigerian society and to work out a political solution that will be fair, inclusive and equitable to all.
“We wish to note that the various crises that have plagued the Nigerian society lately stem from the feeling of neglect, marginalisation and inequity. These cries of marginalisation seem to have some validations and have been amplified under the tenure of President Buhari, who apparently has favoured the North in key appointments and interventions.”
A victory again good conscience,
Atiku is an old cargo that is hell bent on selling the rest of our minute commonwealth! We must boycott his electoral campaign and appeals, and vote Sowore who will build and redistribute new wealth for the sake of the majority! SoworeForPresident
South will vote massively against any northern candidate. Otoge
atiku is not driven by the desires to serve, he's driven by inordinate ambition and tendencies for personal aggrandizement. He will be worse than Sani Abacha.
No be liar.
PDP has set our country on edge. Let those who know the way to oracles divine now before the snake will hibernate in a heep of rubbish.
May the almighty choose the best leader for us
Before nko. Meanwhile, see how peter motivated the Efcc without any effort.
Are these people really okay? Why are they blaming Buhari for PDP's unfair treatment of Southerners.
Power should go to the East or West
He will loss PDP knows that, Northerners doesn't like the man that much, APC can give a popular candidates it's game over maybe Jonathan or osinbajo/lawal .
So unfair
Nothing like being unfair here. The entire south are we sincerely to our selves. Yoruba wants to grab everything against others, without fairness and equity to the south east. Let's watch APC primaries. The more you look the less you see. The south learn from this.
Nigeria needs truth and justice to heal. You cannot get that from any Northerner now in the corridors of power. See how Tambuwal defected last minute? You foolish southerners cannot see passed your over bloated egos. Atiku is not the answer, his tenure already served by Buhari.
It’s very unfair, if these leaders care about unity and progress of the country
Atiku is the next president, you nigerians think buhari is mean abi? Nigeria is about to enter another 8 years of hardship until 2031,the worst kind of hardship for that matter. By 2030 the people who will survive the hunger and hardship will go line up again to collect PVC.
Since the southwest said anyone can be president from any region just to feed their hunger for power, I feel power will never go to them again. Because they are the only region who does not want to work with the south south and the southeast.
Yes na..., No just imagine not ruling again for 16yrs at a stretch. There are other tribes na..., if APC gives there flag to a northerner, PO should be smiling.
Atiku might fail us..
Southern politicians are all mad, after a disastrous 8 years by a northerner then another northerner wants to run. One Nigeria in the mud…
He's won already 🤷♂️
Let us follow the group but who are they bringing?
