in conjunction with Artswax Communications unveiled plans for the upcoming World Drummers Day 2024. The event, which was held at the Seaside Cottage Theater, Lagos, saw Artswax Comms and GOTHAD revealing plans to host a public book presentation and a special performance of the inaugural drum-drama, ‘Echoes of the Drums.’
The event is scheduled to take place at the National Universities Commission in Abuja on April 4, coinciding with global discussions on the significance of drums.“The power and potency of drums hasn’t been explored at all, we haven’t touched it. Drum has several capacities; we’ve seen several people get healed through drums…there’s drum therapy, drum rehabilitation. Only the wood has a lot of financial benefit to our economy” said Seun Awobajo – Lagos Chairman, Guild of Theatre Art Drummers.
