The cohort will have a strong focus on startups leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning to address critical challenges and unlock new opportunities across the continent.
Since its inception in 2018, the programme has supported 106 startups from 17 African countries and has collectively raised over $263 million and created more than 2,800 direct jobs. Nigerian workers, hovering at about 50 million, have remained among the lowest earners in the world, as the monthly wage floor in Africa’s most populous country has fallen to $23 amidst the worsening cost of living crisis .
