A group, Strong Bridge Human Right Initiative has asked the Lagos State Government to fulfil a promise of monetary compensation made to the family of an official of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps, Monsuru Bolaji, murdered by some cult members. Bolaji, a Corps Assistant 1, was stabbed in the neck and left for dead around 9 pm in February 2018. It was learnt that the deceased, who was on night shift was preparing to resume work when a five-man gang ambushed him.

Christopher Chukwuka Emelifeonwu, National President of the human rights group in a letter to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, urged the government to support the family of the late security officer. “Governor Ambode administration made a financial/monetary promise to compensate his children, wife and family members he left behind but the promise has not been fulfilled till date. Also, all the officers of Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps who died while in service.
